Native Washingtonian, born in southeast Washington, DC graduating Damascus High School in 1981 at the age of 17. He brings over 38 years of field experience to the D2 Engineering Team. Fred started his career in the HVAC Mechanical trades industry in July of 1981 and has performed field services in just about all aspects of the trade. Everything from maintaining, servicing, replacing & installing commercial HVAC equipment to managing, selling, and providing technical expertise to many of the facility management companies in the Washington, DC area.
Fred graduated the Steamfitters Local 602 apprenticeship school in 1987 and in 1991 returned to the school to become an instructor for the Steamfitters Local 602 Apprenticeship program. Fred has taught a multitude of classes for the Steamfitter Apprenticeship School from Journeyman advanced HVAC classes such as large chiller troubleshooting, VFD theory, service, and installation to apprenticeship classes, such as basic & advanced air conditioning to basic & advanced electricity.
Fred is also heavily associated with and involved in several organizations made up of independent HVAC contracting companies across the United States. These companies share technical information as it relates to the mechanical trades industry and assist each other in solving problems for all of their customers.
Fred’s field expertise brings to the table real world knowledge and understanding to the mechanical trades industry in problem solving mechanical issues. His teaching background along with his field knowledge brings real world knowledge to the classroom when instructing.
